The AFGAN HOUND Noble by nature and by looks, this agile and beautiful dog, originally hunted Gazelle and leopard in Afganistan. Once it became desirable in Europe, it was exported, and around 1907, the first Afgan was shown at the London Dog-show. Qualities: the coat must be plentiful, long and fringes must be silky. Bright, glossy colours are cherished and the entire coat should be well distributed. Character: Ideal nature should be a dignified and affectionate leaning, without being shy or overly friendly with strangers. Afgans are devoted to their owners! Care: Regular grooming is very important. Not to be underestimated by their regal and elegant looks, these fast, powerful and brave dogs are good watch-dogs, and love to run!
