Welfare societies that we support and love! Cross Breeds and mysterious breeds (!)
Cora Bailey does amazing work in the poverty stricken areas of South Africa, supporting those who cannot afford to feed their pets. She also provides food to the homeless and AIDS sufferers, visiting places where no-one else goes. She is in constant need of donations and assistance. If you feel that you can help, contact us and we will put you in touch! Looking for a Border Collie? Or want to support this wonderful cause? Many Border Collies are looking for homes or support. Visit this site for info. Dogcoza Rehab is our self run rehab, where we take lists of homeless pets requiring love and attention and rehabilitate them. The motivation behind this project is to give "hopeless" cases a chance. We plan to re-home these dogs to people who will both adore and use these dogs. Current talks are underway to establish a training centre where such dogs are trained to be "alert" dogs, where they are kept inside homes, and form close bonds with their owners, and are used to alert owners of potential dangers from criminals. The owner would then retreat into a "safe room" (with the dog of course!) and escape potential harm. The other initiative, for which we are currently seeking sponsorship is to get prisoners, who are being rehabilitated, to train these dogs, take care of them and finally be equipped with a new skill. Studies done in the USA have proved that when people work with animals, they are more likely to come to terms with their emotions and disabilities. |
